An independent team
NiXEN was formed by a spin-off of the French midcap team from Natixis Private Equity (NPE).
NiXEN’s team gained its independence when Natixis announced its strategy to reorganise its Private Equity business, paving the way for a new specialist in Flexible Equity.
Following the spin-off implemented by NIXEN’s team in October 2010:
- The management company became independent and is now wholly owned by the management team,
- A fund advised by AXA Private Equity (fund of funds) became the sole investor in the NPE’s original French midcap portfolio, NiXEN I, valued at around €500 million, and entrusted the management of this portfolio to NiXEN,
- A new fund, NiXEN II, was launched with a first closing of €100 million backed by a fund advised by AXA Private Equity and Natixis.
